Introducing Diane
After facing a life-threatening battle with autoimmune encephalitis, where her immune system attacked her brain, leaving her in a semi-coma state and hospitalised for six months, Diane Adebayo refused to be defined by adversity. At just 15 years old, Diane couldn't walk, talk, eat, or see—yet, looking at her today, you would never know it. This unimaginable experience ignited her passion for resilience, and now, Diane is not only breaking down barriers in her own life but inspiring others to do the same. From not being able to speak to sharing her story on global platforms, from being unable to walk to leading change, and from losing her sight to empowering others to see beyond their present limitations, Diane's journey is a testament to the power of perseverance.
Diane Adebayo is the founder of Here In You, a social enterprise committed to the personal development of especially, but not only, young girls and women. An aspiring clinical psychologist currently completing a degree in Psychology with Cognitive Neuroscience, Diane’s passion for mental health and resilience stems from her powerful journey of having, navigating, and overcoming autoimmune encephalitis—where her immune system attacked her brain, resulting in total vision loss, and much more. This life-changing experience ignited her desire to help others navigate adversity and catalyse change, leading her to develop her signature framework, “The 4 Ps of Championship.” This tool is designed to empower individuals to transform pain into proof, using life’s challenges as fuel for personal growth.
As a social entrepreneur, inspirational speaker, and encephalitis support volunteer, Diane uses her story to inspire others to cultivate resilience, well-being, and success. Her work is grounded in the belief that life’s challenges can either define or refine us. Whether through completing professional development courses or learning new skills, Diane is committed to continually evolving and expanding her expertise to serve others better. She is driven by her mission to inspire, innovate, and impact in all aspects of her work.
In Diane’s words:
“View life’s limitations as an opponent in the arena of life, not a dictator. Choose to be refined by pain, not defined by it.”
“A champion isn’t someone who simply receives a trophy or medal, but one who, at the crossroads of adversity, decides not to give up.”
